A small publication.
A useful perspective.

Elevator stories from Manitoba and beyond.

Why this exists

Elevators are part of everyday life. The decisions, technology and people behind them are less visible. The Elevator People explores that world, one short article at a time.

Run by people in the elevator trade, The Elevator People brings an inside perspective to stories anyone can follow. We explain the equipment, decisions and questions behind everyday elevator rides in plain English.

What you’ll find here

Incident reports explained in plain English. Simple guides to elevator parts for building owners. A starting point for Manitoba’s official information, plus questions about maintenance and modernization worth exploring.

Manitoba is the home base. News from other provinces is clearly labelled, and archived investigations carry their source dates.

How we work

We link to original sources, separate reported facts from interpretation and say when an answer is unknown. If we get something wrong, we correct it openly.
